As airports go, the newly refurbished Milan Linate Airport is super kid friendly. It is small, and therefore easy and quick to navigate. They have a usually very fast family lane at the security checks, with no need to take out liquids (including baby formula or food) or fold the pushchair, although it needs to be emptied completely and baby has to go through the metal detector separately. They also have great re-packing areas with tables and seats, just after the security checks. Both arrivals and departures have great new BABY PIT STOP rooms with changing facilities, armchairs for breastfeeding and kids toilets. The adults toilets have cubicles with child seats to strap baby too in the absence of a pushchair. The airport is step free, with lifts leading to the upper floor with restaurants and a great soft play area, and to the lower floor with gates. There are several shops, bars and restaurants, including a Venchi Gelateria, and vending machines, however, you won't be able to buy baby food once you pass the security checks. Being a small airport, mostly serving the rest of Italy and Europe, the queue at passport control both at arrivals and departure is quick. The airport is very close to the city centre.
There are a couple of downsides. Passengers are taken to and from the planes on busses, which can be a bit busy and fiddly with kids and pushchairs. And connections to Milan are via car, bus or taxi. Taxis are not great at the minute, quite expensive and don't always accept cards (although they are legally bound to).
